Title: Youth Prose Anthology, vol.2

FOLLOWING THE SUCCESS OF THE FIRST VOLUME OF ANTHOLOGY OF YOUTH PROSE PUBLISHED IN 2003 LIMBUS PRESS KEEPS THE POT OF YOUTH PROSE ON THE BOIL. THIS NEW OUTSTANDING COLLECTION CONSISTS OF THE WORKS WHERE ADOLESCENT ANGST IS MIXED WITH THE ATMOSPHERE OF STEALING CHILDHOOD, AND WHERE DISGUST VERGES ON POETIC REVELATIONS.
Short novel GAS BY KONSTANTIN MAXIMOV is written with the energy and emotional impact of the punk rock. Six teenagers in turn give their witty accounts on drinking, clubbing, pot smoking, falling in love and, as always, battling for identity.
Konstantin Maximov was born in 1984 in Irkutsk and is a student of the Arts Depatment of Irkutsk State University. He is an award winner of a number of poetry competitions. In 2002 he published a collection of poems “Associations”.
SHORT STORIES BY NASTYA KALININA are unique. No doubt she is going to prove to be one of the most gifted young Russian authors. Her prose distinguishes itself with drastic nature in every word, thought and feeling. A girl Katka who knows nothing about masturbation, can’t sleep and have to go through a hell of her family disintegration; a man who doesn’t know for sure whom he lives with – a woman or a cat; a woman who is given a night with a sad stripper as a present for her birthday, all the characters in Nastya’s stories puzzle and spellbind the reader.
Nastya Kalinina was born in 1984 in Leningrad and wrote her first book at the age of three. In 2001 her novel A Workshop of Me was nominated for the Debut Literary Prize. Nastya is currently doing her Master’s degree in Literature in the US and writing a novel.
A novel THE SOLDIERS OF THE TRASH ARMY BY MIKHAIL LYALIN is a hard boiled narration about what the author calls Generation Trash, a story of extremism told by an insider. “If you strike first, strike for effect” is only one of the Trash Army rules. The characters initiate street fights and read the Bible, break windows of the trains and kiss their girls’ fingers gently. They are rebels at heart, yet they are involved in the game of adults and do not decide anything for themselves.
Mikhail Lyalin was born in 1983 in Leningrad. He holds a degree from R&D department of St.Petersburg State University and is currently working on his PhD.
